Your vehicles are part of the crew, and they have paperwork of their own. Tradescraft keeps each van, pickup and truck as a record you can dispatch to a job, holding the dates that matter so an expiry surfaces on a list instead of at a roadside stop.

- Counts come from the same movements as the warehouse, so the van is not a separate spreadsheet.
- Check what is already on the truck before you send someone to the supplier.
Routed for the vehicle it is
- Set the type - car, pickup, van, light or heavy truck, trailer or plant - and the drive is worked out for that vehicle.
- A route that uses a vehicle ferry says so instead of quietly pricing the crossing as road.
Common questions
- Can I dispatch a vehicle to a job?
- Yes. A vehicle is a dispatchable resource in its own right, so you assign it to a job and its appointment exactly as you would a staff member or a subcontractor.
- Can I see what stock is on a van?
- Yes. Point a stock location at the vehicle and the van's page shows what it is carrying, counted from the same movements as the warehouse - so you can check the truck before sending anyone to the trade counter.
- Are trucks routed differently to cars?
- Set the vehicle's type and the drive is worked out for that vehicle rather than assuming a car. Where a truck profile isn't configured, the route says plainly that it was worked out as a car and that height, weight and truck-access limits were not applied - so nobody quotes a drive a loaded truck can't make.
- What happens when I sell a van?
- Mark it inactive. It stops appearing where you would dispatch it, and the record and its history stay, so past jobs still make sense.
