The Tradescraft operations hub is the screen you run the day from. A live map shows where every crew is and which sites they're near, and alongside it sit the jobs coming up, the enquiries just in, and a feed of what's happening across the business.
Your whole operation, live on one screen
The map is the home screen. Jobs, quotes and enquiries sit on it, along with recent positions from crew who share location. Tap a pin to see the detail, call or email the customer, compare nearby workers, or pull up driving directions to site.
Every job, quote and crew on one live map
When you open Tradescraft, jobs, quotes, enquiries, customer sites and suppliers are pinned to their saved locations. Workers who choose to share location appear from their latest GPS ping, with freshness shown on the map. Pins are colour-coded so records read apart at a glance, and the controls along the top switch each layer on or off. Records close together fold into a numbered cluster and spread back out as you zoom in. Search finds a site by name or jumps to a set of coordinates.
Tap a pin to call or email the customer on the spot
Tap any pin and its details open right there on the map. For a new enquiry that's the caller, what they need and where - with their phone and email each sitting beside one-tap buttons: ring them, open a ready-to-send email, or copy the number or address to paste anywhere. From the same card you can send the nearest hand or trace the drive from your yard to site, so you reach the customer and book the work without ever leaving the map.

Bring your GIS layers onto the job map
- Admins can import GeoJSON or KML files, save snapshots from public ArcGIS feature layers, or connect public ArcGIS map services and WMS/WMTS image tiles.
- Share each layer with individual users or map-sharing groups. Assigned users can show or hide overlays alongside jobs and sites; admins can see every layer.
- Keep service areas, routes or other datasets in view while planning the day. Sharing groups are separate from application permission roles.
See who's closest, then send them
- See which location-sharing worker is nearest, then use the schedule to check who is free and book the job.
- The map measures distance from each recent crew position, so you can compare the people it can currently locate.
Common questions
- Can I import ArcGIS and other GIS layers?
- Yes. Admins can add public ArcGIS feature layer URLs as saved snapshots, connect ArcGIS map services, WMS 1.1.1 in EPSG:3857 and compatible Web Mercator WMTS image templates, or upload GeoJSON/KML files. File and feature imports support up to 5,000 features and need re-importing for updates. Private services and API tokens are not supported. Tile availability and updates depend on the provider.
- Can I share map layers with a particular crew?
- Yes. Assign a layer to named users, sharing groups, or both. Group membership controls which overlays appear for each person without changing their application permissions. Admins can manage and see all layers in their business.
- What's on the operations hub?
- A live map of customer sites and records, recent positions from crew who share location, the jobs coming up, the enquiries just in, and a feed of recent activity.
- Does the map help me decide who to send?
- Yes. For workers with a recent shared location, the map shows who's nearest by distance. The schedule board then shows who is free before you book the job.
- Does the operations hub update live?
- Yes. New enquiries and jobs appear as they happen, and crew positions refresh on the map every few minutes as new GPS pings come in, so the screen keeps up with the day without a refresh.
- Can I find a site quickly on the map?
- Search by site name or drop in coordinates and the map jumps straight to it, so you can pull up a customer's location without scrolling around.
