Asset and equipment servicing

A register of the units you look after, with every visit attached to the right one.

Air conditioners, pumps, hot-water units, plant - the equipment you go back to. Tradescraft keeps each unit as its own record with make, model and serial, where it sits, when it was installed, when the warranty ends and when it is next due, plus every job you have ever done on it.

A record per unit

  • Register a customer's equipment or your own plant, with type, make, model and serial number.
  • Pin it to the site, and note exactly where on that site it is - roof, plant room, back fence.
  • Record the install date and when the warranty runs out.

Know what is due

  • Set a service interval in months and Tradescraft carries the next service due date.
  • The register flags what is due or overdue, so a maintenance round almost writes itself.
  • Pair it with a recurring job so the visits keep going out on a cadence.

The full service history

  • Link a unit to the jobs done on it, with a note on what each visit was for.
  • Open the asset to read every job in its history, oldest to latest.
  • Open a job to see which units it touched - so the tech arriving next knows what happened last time.

Common questions

Can I track my own plant as well as customer equipment?
Yes. Each asset is marked as the customer's or your own, so the same register covers a client's rooftop unit and your own excavator.
How does the next service due date work?
Give the unit a service interval in months and Tradescraft works out when it is next due, then flags it on the register once it is due or overdue.
Does this replace recurring jobs?
No, the two work together. The register tells you what equipment is due; a recurring job is what actually puts the visit on the schedule and raises the paperwork.
What if a unit gets replaced?
Mark the old one inactive and register the new one. The old record and its job history stay, so you can still see what was done and when.
